NBL Weekend Results - Hoops U14s go top of the Midlands West league
Oxford Hoops U14 posted a big win on Saturday against the seemingly beleaguered Shropshire Warriors who are languishing at the bottom of the Midlands West League. However, the win means that Hoops now top that League with 3 wins and 1 loss this season. It'll be close at the top of that league as it will be in South I where the Abingdon Eagles are currently sitting 4th. They had a close game vs Bucks Hornets on Saturday but came away with a loss.
Abingdon Eagles' U16s faired better with a Sunday game vs Woking Blackhawks and put on an extremely strong performance to win the game 40-87. They are currently 3rd in the league, with only 2 points separating the top 4.
In the seniors National Shield, Oxford Brookes University men beat Bristol UWE Flyers II 80-85, while in women's Division 1, the Oxford Brookes team lost to Reading Rockets. Oxford Stealers also posted a loss vs Cardiff Met Archers II.
Think that's it for the last weekend.
We are also hoping to post local game results on here on a regular basis, so keep checking in and if you have any news about basketball in Oxfordshire, please email publicity.oxba@gmail.com
